![]() ![]() You can choose to play with your created team, a team like Real Madrid with fictional players or Real Madrid with Zidane and his buddies. Master League is where you’ll find the real meat of the game. There are five modes, Training, Master League, League, Cup, and Match. Now, onto something else, there’s no online at all, so you can only play using one console, you can play with up to four players. “Super cancel” a way to try to work around this did not cut it either. The problem to this is that the rival AI player will many times come rushing and intercept that ball, you see it coming, you try to get to the ball first, but your player just will not react. The second illness is that some times, when you pass the ball to forward, not a through ball but just a pass forward, the game doesn’t fully let you control the player receiving the ball, what happens is that your player will wait for the ball motionless or walk a little too slow to get to that ball. Free kick shooting is a hassle and is near impossible to score a goal, there’s no indication of where your ball is going and there’s very little you can do to solve this. I would say that whenever you score a goal from a free kick, you are going to save that replay and watch it a hundred times cause you know you won’t be scoring again like that in a LONG time. There are only two complaints as far as on-field gameplay is concerned, so lets get that fly out of this tasty soup. The controls are easy to learn and are very well mapped on the controller. Among the qualities of the AI is that whenever you score a goal, the AI becomes much more aggressive, knowing it needs to score if it doesn’t want to lose, two men pressure, no more open spaces and ball interceptions are common if you can’t handle the situation. The AI changes according to teams, some teams center the ball most of the time while other teams like Brazil will pass the ball around with accuracy and speed and high-skilled players like Ronaldo will try to pass opponents individually. Of course such a high level of difficulty also helps in creating some frustrating moments. The AI is great and when set to full difficulty it makes you look at your second controller to make sure you are not playing against another player instead of the computer. ![]() The action on the field is believable and more importantly, enjoyable, all thanks to beautiful animations, comfortable controls and extraordinary AI. It’s a shame the English league is not fully licensed but then the game has more gameplay going for it than any other football game out there. ![]() Winning Eleven 8, the new installment on Konami’s long running franchise brings some improvements to the series, but the most noticeable one being the fully licensed Italian, Spanish and Dutch leagues.
